NEW AT THE SEAPORT

NEW AT THE SEAPORT--Paul Hart, Deputy Executive Director of the Tuckerton Seaport, helps Kyle Carlson, 8, and her brother Bryan, 5, of Bayville, learn the ins and outs of running a seafood store at the newly opened Crest Fishery at the Tuckerton Seaport. The building also features a miniature pound fishing exhibit. Also new is the Tuckers Lighthouse exhibit, Patriot Pirates Tales of Plunder and Privateers of Coastal NJ. The Seaport is open April through December and summer hours are 10 am to 4 pm. It has 40 acres of exhibits, demonstrations and interactive displays about the area's maritime heritage. It is four miles from Exit 58 of the Garden State Parkway on Route 9 in downtown Tuckerton. Ocean County Freeholder Director John P. Kelly encourages anyone who wants to become better acquainted with the bay heritage of the Ocean County to visit the Seaport.
