GOING ROUND IN CIRCLES - If the cover of "The Carousel News & Trader"
seems familiar, it very well could be. The September issue, which focuses
on New Jersey, features a close-up the Dr. Floyd L. Moreland Dentzel/Loof
Carousel in Seaside Heights on the front. There also is a two-page
centerfold of the full carousel, 10 additional photos and an article by Dr.
Moreland on the history of shore carousels. Freeholder Joseph H. Vicari,
who serves as Ocean County's tourism liaison, said, " The carousel is a
not-so-mute tribute to Moreland's passion for maintaining it in such
wonderful condition over the years. It also speaks well of the owners, the
Storinos, that this piece of Americana remains in tact and has not been
disassembled to be sold piece-meal to collectors. We are indeed fortunate
to have this treasure in Ocean County."
