ARMENIAN FLAG RAISING SCHEDULED FOR SEPT. 21

TOMS RIVER - The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders invites the public to attend the seventh annual Armenian Flag Raising here at the Administration Building, 101 Hooper Ave., on Friday, September 21 at 1 p.m. This flag raising ceremony marks the 16th Anniversary of Armenian Liberation.

"We invite all residents to come out and join us for this event," said Freeholder Director John P. Kelly. "The flag raising ceremonies that the county hosts are times to reflect on the diversity of cultures in our county and the contributions made by all."

The Ocean County Sheriff’s Department Honor Guard will be in attendance as well as keynote speaker Dr. Joan Rivitz, New Jersey Civil Rights Commissioner, speaking on "Armenia from Darkness to Light" and representatives from the Armenian American Social Club of Ocean County.
