FOUR ROADS TO BE RECONSTRUCTED THIS FALL

FOUR ROADS in three municipalities will be reconstructed and resurfaced this fall.

The Ocean County Board of Chosen Freeholders is expected to seek bids for the projects, which have an estimated total cost of $1.75 million.

“These roads are part of our ongoing maintenance and upgrading of the county road network,” said Freeholder John P. Kelly, liaison to the Ocean County Engineer’s Office.

Included in the contract are:
  • Diamond Road from Leesville Road to Route 526 in Jackson Township.
  • South New Prospect Road from West County Line Road to Aldrich Road in Jackson Township.
  • Radio Road from Mathistown Road Rivercrest Drive and from Oak Lane to Great Bay Boulevard in Little Egg Harbor Township.
  • Ridgeway Road (Route 571) in Manchester Township from Commonwealth Boulevard to Route 70.
Freeholder James F. Lacey, liaison to the Ocean County Road Department, said Ocean County has the largest county road system in the state.

“With 621 miles of county roads we are constantly investing in and modernizing our road network” Lacey said.

Kelly and Lacey said the continuing effort also ensures that Ocean County’s roads are safe for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
