OFFICER I.G.G.Y.,
OCEAN COUNTY'S INTERNET SAFETY ROBOT,
GREETS STUDENTS
LACEY TOWNSHIP - Recently, the Ocean County Department of Corrections
brought their new Internet safety robot to the Cedar Creek Elementary
School, Lacey. The robot named I.G.G.Y., which stands for Internet
Guardian Guards Youth, was named by Bridget Lewis' fourth grade class
through a "name the robot" contest sponsored by the Ocean County Board of
Chosen Freeholders. As a reward, the class was the first group to meet
I.G.G.Y. and they received certificates of award from the board honoring
them for their achievement.
Pictured are Corrections Officer Thomas Donlon and the Internet safety
robot Officer I.G.G.Y. reading to the class a list of do's and do not's
for safe surfing on the Internet.
